Project Overview

The Toomer Elementary School Building Improvement and Renovations project involved Atlanta Public Schools' pursuit of a construction manager at risk to improve the appearance and function of the existing elementary school on Rogers Street in Atlanta, Georgia. Valued at $14.5 million, the scope encompassed potential changes to classroom layouts, spatial relationships, and building infrastructure, with specifics expected to evolve as planning progressed. The open ended nature of the program required a pursuit strategy that could speak to both immediate improvements and a flexible long term vision for the school. The client engaged PRESWERX to build the presentation, renderings, and animations needed to support the pursuit.

Client Challenges

Pursuing a renovation project with a program still taking shape presented a distinct communication challenge for the team:

  • Presenting a vision for a school improvement scope that was not yet fully defined.

  • Demonstrating an understanding of a working elementary school campus and its daily operations.

  • Differentiating the team in a competitive K-12 construction management pursuit.

Together, these challenges called for a presentation built on adaptability and clear communication.

Scope of Work

PRESWERX developed the full presentation package for the Toomer Elementary School pursuit. The team produced a presentation deck that addressed the construction manager at risk services required for the renovation, along with the school's location and existing conditions on Rogers Street. Renderings illustrated potential improvements to classroom spaces and building systems, translating an evolving program into a tangible visual story. Animations supported the presentation by demonstrating how proposed changes would affect the flow and function of the campus. PRESWERX also provided presentation coaching to prepare the team's speakers for the interview.

PRESWERX Approach

PRESWERX approached the pursuit by building a presentation flexible enough to address a program that was still being defined. The team:

  • Developed renderings that illustrated representative improvements without overcommitting to a final, undefined scope.

  • Framed the presentation narrative around the client's experience with occupied school renovations.

  • Coached presenters on responding confidently to open ended programmatic questions during the interview.

The result was a presentation that felt prepared for a project still in motion.

Results Delivered

PRESWERX delivered a complete presentation package held to the standard of a $14.5 million K-12 renovation pursuit. Every component was built to hold up under interview scrutiny.

  • The renderings gave reviewers a tangible sense of the proposed improvements to the school.

  • The animations clarified how the renovation would affect an occupied elementary school campus.

  • The presentation coaching prepared the team's speakers to address an evolving scope with confidence.

The client walked into the interview with a presentation as adaptable and well prepared as the pursuit required.
